how to view this page

As indicated above, this web page is meant to look at least passable in whatever browser, operating system, etc. you choose to use. It's not my place to tell you what software you should run. It's also not my responsibility to compensate for any poor choices you may make in configuring that software, or for the failure of that software's authors to conform to internet standards.

That having been said: this web page is written, for the most part, in HTML 4.01 Transitional, and makes heavy use of Cascading Style Sheets Level 2. If your browser supports these things (which a decent one should), so much the better.

As Mark Twain once said, "I can live for weeks on a good compliment." About the only thing that keeps me working on this page is the persistent conviction that someone, somewhere, is actually reading it. Audience validates existence. Fan mail, hate mail, love letters, constructive criticism, destructive criticism, death threats, ASCII art, inane ramblings, requests for links, advice on my HTML style, advice on my writing style, advice on my lifestyle, and generally any kind of feedback at all is not only welcomed but heartily encouraged. Junk mail is not, unless it is your sincere desire that I e-mail you a beat down.

These days you can't kick a tree without a few HTML tutorials falling out. The Writing HTML Tutorial from the Maricopa Center for Learning and Instruction is one of the oldest, and it's the one I used when I was just starting out. For more tutorials plus the official definition of many important internet standards, see the W3C.
